About DevKit
DevKit is a small collection of free developer and marketer utilities: a JSON formatter and validator, a color converter with a WCAG contrast checker, and a Base64 and URL encoder. It exists because those three jobs come up constantly in real work — debugging an API response, checking whether text is readable, building a link that actually works — and each one deserves a tool that is fast, honest, and private.
Three principles shape everything on this site. First, everything runs in your browser. The tools are plain HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with no server behind them, so the JSON, colors, and text you paste never leave your device. There is no account to create and nothing to upload. Second, each tool does one job well. A formatter that also tries to be a database, a design system, and a code editor does none of them well; DevKit keeps each tool focused, with a worked example and an explanation so you can check the result instead of trusting it blindly. Third, the explanations matter as much as the answers. Every tool page explains how the result is calculated, and every guide goes deeper into the idea behind the tool, because a developer who understands the answer can adapt it when the next problem is slightly different.
DevKit is run by an independent writer and builder. It is a side project, maintained alongside other work, and it is free to use. If you find a bug, a wrong number, or a tool that could be clearer, please get in touch — corrections are welcome and are usually fixed quickly.
